- Continued Progress. Digital marketing has already been a growing field and will likely continue to grow. Due to the growing reliance of businesses on online platforms and digital marketing, it is expected that they will invest even more.
- AI, Automation : Artificial intelligence (AI) is increasingly being integrated with digital marketing. AI will likely continue to be used by marketers for various tasks, including personalization and customer segmentation.
- Video Content Dominance: Videos are gaining popularity. This is especially true on platforms like YouTube and TikTok. It was believed that video marketing would be an essential part of digital strategy.
- The Social Media Marketing: We expect social media platforms to remain central in digital marketing efforts. New platforms might be developed, and the strategies of using those that are already available could change.
- “Search Engine Optimization” (SEO).. SEO will likely remain a vital component of the digital marketing. However, specific techniques and the best practices might evolve as a result of changes in search engines algorithms.
- The Content Marketing: We expected quality content to continue as a key component in successful digital campaign. This includes blogs, articles, eBooks, infographics and more.
- Individualization and Customer experience. It was expected that it would become more and more important to tailor marketing efforts according to individual preferences and provide a good customer experience.
- Mobile Marketing. As more consumers shop online or use mobile devices as a browsing device, businesses are expected to adopt mobile marketing and ecommerce strategies.
- Privacy and Compliance – With growing concerns about privacy, compliance to regulations such as GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) and CCPA (Compliance with the Communications Act of 1934) is becoming more and more important for digital marketers.
- Virtual Reality , Augmented Reality , were predicted to have an increasing role in Digital Marketing, especially for industries like Retail, Real Estate, and Entertainment.

- Optimization for Voice Search : With the rise of voice-activated technology, such as smart speakers or voice-activated phones, optimization for voice search is becoming more and more important.
